Budgies: Budgies are truly beautiful little parrots and the most popular pet bird in the world. They are available in different colours and are very easy to manage. They also adapt to almost any climatic condition. On choosing your budgie be sure that you select a healthy, clear-eyed, tight feathered bird. It is preferable that you obtain a young male as a pet. The reason why males or cock budgies generally make better pets, better talkers and are far more easy to train than hens, is that hens can be rather “bitey” and hard to tame.

Cockatiels: Cockatiels make very good pets. They are available in different colours and are easy to manage. When choosing your pet cockatiel it is vital that a young bird is selected. It will then be relatively easy to tame and teach to talk whereas an older bird is likely to remain shy. Many people prefer a cock cockatiel as a pet but there is no real difference in their respective talking abilities. Colour is also purely a matter of personal preference.
